About Dr. Tony

Dr. Tony L. Wilson has been Senior Pastor of White Oak since November, 2009. He is originally from Chattanooga and is married to Leslie. Tony and Leslie will celebrate 40 years on March, 9th, 2025. They have two sons. Timothy (Leah) and Daniel. They are the proud grandparents of two granddaughters... Averie Kate and Emery Lane. Tony goes by Pop and Leslie is called Lolli, so the girls come to Lollipop’s house and when they enter, you guessed it, they get a lollipop!

Tony served on the Executive Committee of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board and has served the Hamilton County Baptist Association in different positions throughout the years.

He has pastored Union Fork Baptist in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, Gum Springs in Sparta, Tennessee, Westside Baptist in Lakeview, Georgia, Pine Eden Baptist in Crossville, Tennessee, and will begin his 16th year at White Oak Baptist in Chattanooga, Tennessee in November of 2024.

He and his wife, Leslie, have been involved in Jamaica missions for the past twenty-six years. He is the Director of Evangelism for Safe Pasture International. They have also led groups to Israel, Turkey, Greece, Egypt, and Canada. They have traveled to Puerto Rico, Antigua, Hawaii and many, many other places.

Bro. T loves several things and mentions them quite often from the pulpit, or even in conversation. His love for Maxwell House Coffee is well documented. Of course he loves it, it is good to the last drop. He is not really sure you can be saved and not like Maxwell House and Cracker Barrel! He has lost count of all the Cracker Barrels that he has eaten in and salutes the sign when he passes them on the interstate. He has been called, “The Cracker Barrel Evangelist.”

John Wayne is his favorite actor. His office boasts an impressive collection of John Wayne memorabilia! One of his favorite quotes is from the Duke. “Life is hard; it’s even harder when you’re stupid!’ He often shares that his mom and dad had a picture of John Wayne in the living room and not even one of their only son.

If you’re around Tony long you will find out about his strong dislike of mac and cheese. Strong dislike might be an understatement! The odd thing is that he has never tasted it. He is aware that this does not make sense. And he has seen the eye rolls to emphasize that fact.

He has preached many Revivals, Evangelism Conferences and One Day Meetings. Above all else, he loves to talk about what King Jesus means to him.
